He will undoubtedly continue to provide leadership that is both inspiring and honorable to not only the United States Air Force, but the entire Armed Services and defense community.

“General Charles Q. Brown will join a small, but esteemed class of African Americans to sit on the Joint Chiefs of Staff being only the second African American since General Colin L. Powell served as the body’s Chairman from 1989 to 1993. General Brown will assume the top leadership job for the Air Force alongside Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force, Kaleth O. Wright, who is the top enlisted noncommissioned officer and also African American.”
