WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Butterfield issued the following statement on the passing of a career educator, community leader and friend, Ann Edge. 

“The life and legacy of Ann Edge is a story of passionate advocacy for investment in our future generations and dedicated service to the needs of her community. A retired principal and administrator of Rocky Mount Public Schools and Nash-Rocky Mount Board of Education member; Ann devoted many years of her time and talent to ensuring that children were prepared with resources to succeed and education policies to propel their educational experience. Serving on the Board of Directors for Meals on Wheels and member of numerous other community engagement organizations; Ann Edge’s tireless dedication and love for her community has left an indelible mark on countless children, women and families throughout her community and beyond. I extend my sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of Ann Elizabeth Price Edge during this difficult time. She will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.”
