Butterfield Mourns the Loss of Kenneth Edmonds

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman G. K. Butterfield (NC-01) released the following statement on the passing of The Carolina Times publisher, Kenneth Edmonds.   

“The role of The Carolina Times under the leadership of Kenneth Edmonds is a treasured legacy that will never be forgotten.  Kenneth Edmonds was a commanding conduit of the unbridled truth for African Americans in Durham and throughout North Carolina.  As we mourn the loss of Kenneth Edmonds and remember his fervent pursuit of truth, justice and equality; let us also be inspired by his strength through adversity, his faith in the face of disenfranchisement and his constant commitment to his community. Let us remember that Kenneth Edmonds took the torch passed down to him by the legendary Louis E. Austin and maintained a valuable news source for the African American community. I extend my sincere condolences to the Edmonds family and the entire Durham community.”
