Federal and state lawmakers gathered Thursday in Rocky Mount on the first day of the new hurricane season to ask their fellow legislators not to forget last year's storm victims.
ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WNCT) — It’s been nearly eight months since Hurricane Matthew swept through the East, but many people are still displaced from their homes.
Congressman G.K. Butterfield held a news conference to inform the public of the work being done at the state and federal level.
Linda Worsley has lived in Princeville for 65 years and spoke at the event.
A freshly introduced bill could make more African Americans TV and radio stations owners in the U.S.
Each year a new group of people gains the right to vote, becoming politically active and forming the generation who will determine the future. In an effort to reach out to these young and upcoming voters, Congressman G.K. Butterfield visited Halifax Community College to dispense knowledge.
