The Federal Aviation Administration is investing $2.5 million in the Pitt-Greenville Airport to fund infrastructure improvements and upgrades at the airport, the facility’s executive director said.
On a beautiful summer evening, the gym at the Emily K Center in Durham was packed — not for a basketball game, but instead to learn about computer science or programming as a career path. Parents, guardians, and students from underrepresented communities explored programming, the jobs available to programmers, and the skills required to become one at the bilingual event Thursday night.

WASHINGTON — U.S. Rep. G.K. Butterfield was among the nearly 200 Democrats who staged a sit-in Wednesday to force a House vote on gun control measures.
LUMPKIN, Ga. (WNCN) – Rep. G. K. Butterfield traveled to Georgia to visit a Durham teen who was detained by immigration officials.
Butterfield, who represents the First District, visited with Wildin Acosta at Stewart Detention Center in Lumpkin, Georgia.
The congressman, along with Rep. Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. of Georgia, spoke with Acosta for around 35 minutes.
