Overview

AmeriCorps is a network of state and national service programs that engage citizens in intensive service at non-profits, schools, and community and faith-based groups. Participants learn valuable work skills, earn money for education, and are provided pathways to enter the workforce.

Eligibility

Must be a U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident alien, age 17 years and older.

  1. Deficient in basic literacy skills
  2. A school dropout
  3. Homeless, a runaway, or a foster child
  4. Pregnant or parenting
  5. An offender
  6. Require additional assistance to complete an educational program or to secure and hold employment
