BE ADVISED: White House tours can be booked no earlier than 3 months in advance.
 

Arranged self-guided tours of the White House for constituents are conducted through our office. To arrange a White House tour, follow these steps below to get started.
 

Overview

  • Available by reservation only.
  • After submitting the reservation request, tours are scheduled only by the White House;
    • Tuesday-Thursday, 7:30 AM to 11:00 AM,
    • Friday-Saturday, 7:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
  • Self-Guided and free of charge.
  • Subject to last minute cancellation.
  • Requests can only be submitted to the White House when the information requested in Step 2 is complete.
  • Scheduled on a first come, first served basis and are not guaranteed.
  • Tours may ONLY be requested up to three (3) months in advance.

1. Tour Request Process

  • The White House has a new tour request system:
    • Submit your request via e-mail (info below).
    • You will receive a link to RSVP.
    • Enter your information on first page of the  RSVP form.
    • Then select “ADD GUESTS".
    • Enter the guest information as required.

 

2. E-Mail

  • Send an e-mail to gkbtours@mail.house.gov
  • Subject: 'White House Tour Request'
  • In the body of the E-Mail:
    • Party Name: [Smith Family]
    • Organizer Name: [John Smith]
    • Day Phone: (123) 456-7890

Additional Information

Traveling to the White House:

The closest Metrorail stations to White House are 'Federal Triangle' (Blue and Orange lines), 'Metro Center' (Blue, Orange, and Red lines), and 'McPherson Square (Blue and Orange lines). On-Street parking is not available near the White House, but multiple public parking garages are located around the few blocks outside of the White House complex. Use of public transportation is strongly encouraged. To help plan your trip using the metro, please visit WMATA.

For those unable to reserve a tour:

The White House Visitor Center is open to the public from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, 7-days a week. The Visitor Center is located at the intersection of 15th and E Streets, NW. Allow between twenty (20) minutes to one (1) hour to explore the exhbits. The White House has partnered with the Google Art Project and allowed their 360-degree Street View cameras to capture the rooms that are featured on the White House tour. Now anyone, anywhere, can experience the history and art of the White House via their computer.
